I have to post on here more often... Haha. Well, It's true. I don't post enough; and no matter how much coffee i drink i still don't find a desire to sit down and take the time to write. I love updating people on how the business is going and what's new though! So from now on... just call me on the phone and I'll tell you. No just kidding. I REALLY am going to post more often. I swear. So anyways. Hopefully i can get all of our products updated tonight in the online store, but until then; Changes include the following....

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe - Konga Coffee Coop (Auction Lot)

Anxiously Awaiting:

Colombian Don Telmo Reseva (end Jan, beg of Feb)
Mexican Oaxaca (Hopefully March *fingers crossed*)
I know the Costa Rican Amistad has been highly anticipated by many many customers since we lost last years crop in the fire. It's exciting that we are getting an early shipment of this years crop. This coffee is usually not available until mid March. What a wonderful Xmas / Chanukah / Kwanzaa present!
Don Telmo Reserva - Another amazing coffee that we haven't had in stock for about a year. We were only able to get 1 bag of this coffee last year due to a really low harvest in Colombia last year. But we were lucky to secure at least 3 bags this season. This coffee comes from one varietal called Bourbon which is a heritage (non-hybridized variety) and is very special. The Amistad and the Don Telmo are both estate coffees... which means that they are harvested, processed and exported off of one farm. Since there is no cooperative of small farms , these certified organic offerings are ineligible for the fair-trade certification. That does not mean that they aren't farmed as sustainably as possible though. These 2 estates are some of the MOST socially responsible farms out there; And the Telmo is "Rainforest-Alliance" and "Smithsonian bird friendly" certified.
The Oaxaca was received with incredibly positive feedback and quite honestly, blew me away as well. I immediately tried to get more, but unfortunately other roasters must have felt the same way about it because it disappeared extremely quick. Apparently the Fair Trade Cooperatives in Mexico are creating contracts with importers; but then when harvest time comes, the small farmers who are members are being offered more money from private buyers because it is so good. So when it comes time for the cooperative to fill an importers shipping container with 50000lbs of coffee, there simply isn't enough supply left to meet the demand. So we are keeping our fingers crossed that this contract will go through. Its amazing coffee and we really hope to have it back in stock in March sometime, if all goes well. Say a little prayer to the Mexican coffee gods for us. Or better yet throw a couple Mexican prayer dolls under your pillow for us! Wishing you all a Safe and Happy Holidays.
